Job Description

Job Title: Estimator – Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Estimator with 3–6 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for supporting the preparation of accurate and competitive bids using industry knowledge and estimating software, including FabTrol. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within a high-performing and collaborative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare material take-offs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals

  • Use FabTrol to enter material quantities and generate estimates

  • Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications

  • Assist in obtaining and analyzing quotes from vendors and subcontractors

  • Work closely with the Senior Estimator and Project Management team to ensure bid accuracy

  • Identify and communicate project risks, exclusions, and clarifications

  • Collaborate with engineers, sales, customers, and suppliers to confirm bid details and requirements

  • Participate in internal estimate reviews and adjust bids as directed

  • Assist with change order pricing and post-bid support when required

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all estimates and project correspondence

Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience in estimating structural steel fabrication and erection projects (required)

  • Proficiency with FabTrol (required)

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
