Tax Manager

Location: Alpharetta (Atlanta area), GA

Overview

A national CPA and consulting firm specializing in real estate is seeking a Tax Manager for its Atlanta-area (Alpharetta, Georgia) office. The manager takes primary responsibility for client engagements, supervises and mentors supervisors, seniors and staff, and helps develop client relationships. Flexible, remote and hybrid arrangements are available.

Responsibilities

• Take primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing and technical issues
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews and solve problems with minimal oversight
• Supervise and mentor supervisors, senior accountants and staff
• Complete annual performance evaluations for assigned staff
• Assist leadership with identifying and pursuing new clients
• Present at conferences, contribute to publications and lead trainings
• Manage team time efficiently to support office profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus)
• 3-7+ years of public accounting experience
• CPA license required
• Expert understanding of accounting and tax rules
• Affordable housing, tax credit, real estate or partnership experience helpful but not required
• Available to work evenings/weekends as needed and travel domestically if required
