Residential Drafter – Custom Homes

We are seeking an experienced Residential Drafter to join our team and support the design and construction of high-quality custom homes. This role is ideal for someone who understands that every line on paper represents real-world construction and takes pride in producing accurate, detailed construction documents.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical drafting skills, a solid understanding of residential construction methods, and the ability to translate design concepts into clear, buildable plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed residential construction drawings using AutoCAD

• Develop complete construction document sets for custom homes, including:

  • Floor plans

  • Elevations

  • Sections and details

  • Electrical and lighting layouts

  • Interior and exterior details

• Interpret architectural concepts and convert them into accurate, buildable plans

• Ensure all drawings reflect real-world construction practices and material applications

• Revise plans based on redlines, engineering feedback, and field conditions

• Coordinate with project managers, designers, and consultants to maintain drawing accuracy

• Assist with plan updates throughout the construction process

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of residential drafting experience (custom home experience strongly preferred)

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD required

• Solid understanding of residential construction methods and terminology

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Clear communication and collaboration skills
