About the Firm

A multi-office, AV-rated civil defense firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Litigation Associate to join its team. The firm is committed to delivering high-quality legal representation, outstanding client service, and value by conserving litigation expenses. The practice is built around understanding each client’s philosophy and tailoring defense strategies to align with the client’s goals.

The firm emphasizes strong communication, responsiveness, and proactive reporting, and encourages aggressive file handling to support early and economical resolution of claims. Attorneys are supported by a structure that includes file oversight focused on quality, while maintaining manageable caseloads so lawyers can stay close to their matters and provide “big firm” quality with “small firm” attention to detail. The practice spans a wide range of civil defense matters—from auto liability to complex claims—as well as trial, appellate, and related work.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of insurance defense and/or civil litigation experience

  • Licensed and in good standing in Missouri and/or Illinois (or eligible for licensure)

  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills

  • Demonstrated experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice

  • Organized, deadline-driven, and able to independently advance files

  • Client-service mindset and collaborative, team-oriented approach

Why This Firm
