Position Summary

The Civil Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations on civil, highway and road construction projects. This individual will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality results that meet project specifications and client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage field crews on highway and road construction projects

  • Oversee grading, paving, drainage, utilities, structural concrete, and related civil scopes

  • Coordinate daily work plans and ensure productivity goals are met

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to maintain schedules and budgets

  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure full OSHA compliance

  • Manage subcontractors and vendors on-site

  • Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution

  • Ensure quality control standards are consistently upheld


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience leading a construction team as a Foreman or Superintendent on civil highway and road projects

  • Proven experience managing crews, subcontractors, and multiple work scopes

  • Strong knowledge of DOT standards, roadway construction methods, and heavy civil best practices

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills


Preferred Certifications & Credentials

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Heavy equipment operation background (preferred)

  • Experience with GPS machine control and grade control systems (preferred)
