Job Description

Plaintiff-Side (Asbestos Preferred) | St. Louis, MO (In-Office)

A national plaintiffs’ litigation firm representing individuals and families harmed by corporate wrongdoing is seeking Associate Attorneys with a demonstrated commitment to plaintiff-side civil litigation, ideally with experience in asbestos. Experience in torts, personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability is also strongly preferred.

This firm has a fast-paced, high stakes, and emotionally compelling. They work closely with clients navigating devastating diagnoses and tragic losses, and we pride ourselves on being relentless advocates in and out of the courtroom. This is a full-time, in-office position in St. Louis with frequent travel.

Responsibilities:

As an Associate Attorney, you will learn all aspects of asbestos litigation and quickly become responsible for handling cases. Case management responsibilities include:

  • Written discovery (drafting, responding, and strategy)

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Drafting and arguing motions

  • Trial preparation and second-chair trial work

  • Ongoing client communication and support

Prior experience with these tasks is appreciated, but not required.

Client-Centered Practice

This role involves significant client contact, bringing you into the lives of families experiencing some of the most stressful moments of their lives. Empathy, professionalism, and the ability to build rapport with people from varied backgrounds are essential. Frequent travel is required due to the nature of the work and client needs.

Qualifications:

  • Plaintiff-side asbestos litigation background preferred; other desirable experience includes personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited institution and admission to the bar of the applicable state

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on behalf of injured clients

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
