Job Description

Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney (Bad Faith Focus) — High Stakes | Trial Leadership | Elite Platform

A top-tier litigation practice is selectively adding a Senior Attorney with proven strength in commercial litigation and insurance bad faith. This is not a volume role—this is a seat for a trial-ready attorney who wants to lead significant cases, be trusted with high-exposure matters, and operate in an environment where performance is recognized and rewarded.

They are looking for someone who already operates at a high level—and wants to go higher.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

  • Acting as first-chair trial counsel on complex, high-value litigation
  • Driving case strategy from day one through verdict or resolution
  • Handling sophisticated insurance bad faith and coverage disputes with real exposure
  • Taking ownership of key motions, depositions, and courtroom advocacy
  • Working directly with decision-makers—not buried in layers
  • Mentoring junior attorneys while maintaining control of your cases

What They’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of commercial litigation experience
  • Proven first-chair trial experience (this is non-negotiable)
  • Strong background in insurance bad faith litigation
  • Active WSBA license
  • Someone comfortable with high billables and high expectations—and who wants the upside that comes with it
  • Sharp, strategic thinker with strong courtroom presence

Why This Role Gets Attention:

  • Consistent pipeline of high-exposure cases (not fighting for work internally)
  • Real trial opportunities—not just “trial exposure” on paper
  • Compensation that actually reflects production and performance
  • Lean, high-level team where strong attorneys are trusted, not micromanaged
  • A platform where you can build a reputation, not just bill hours

This is a targeted search. The firm is being highly selective and will only engage with attorneys who can step in and own cases immediately.

If you’re currently in a role where you’re underutilized, not getting trial time, or carrying a heavy load without the upside—this is worth a conversation.
