Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

A top Wisconsin commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support Milwaukee area teams through the technical, coordination, and documentation side of active construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, organization, and working closely with project managers and superintendents to keep projects moving efficiently.

This position offers broad exposure to how commercial projects are planned, coordinated, and executed—while building a strong foundation for growth into Project Management, Superintendent or Preconstruction paths.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll act as a key support resource for the project team, helping ensure information flows smoothly and work stays aligned with project requirements.

  • Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Help manage RFIs, document control, and project records
  • Support quality control processes and verification efforts
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on scopes, schedules, and documentation
  • Track project progress and help maintain schedules and logs
  • Utilize construction software to support reporting and communication
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the project team as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related industries preferred
  • 0–4 years of construction or engineering experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with both field and office teams
  • Clear communicator who can manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms a plus
