Job Description

A well-established law firm with a strong healthcare practice is seeking a Health Law / Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its Kansas City office. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who enjoys complex litigation, values client relationships, and is looking for long-term professional growth within a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Defend physicians, hospitals, healthcare systems, and other providers in medical malpractice matters

  • Handle all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation

  • Advise healthcare clients on risk management and regulatory-adjacent issues tied to litigation

  • Work closely with partners and junior attorneys while serving as a key point of contact for clients

  • Take on meaningful responsibility with the opportunity to mentor associates (for counsel-level candidates)

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior Associate (3+ years) or Counsel-level experience

  • Strong background in medical malpractice defense; health law experience strongly preferred

  • Deposition and motion practice experience required; trial experience is a plus

  • Licensed and in good standing in Missouri (or ability to obtain)

  • Excellent writing, analytical, and client-facing skills
