A reputable and long-standing law firm in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 4-8 years of litigation experience (in worker's compensation, personal injury, or medical malpractice) to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to build and expand a strong career in civil litigation within a supportive and well-respected practice.

 Position Overview The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil litigation matters and a strong interest in insurance defense work. This attorney will work closely with partners and clients on a variety of cases, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, construction claims, and general liability matters.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from initial investigation through resolution.

  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.

  • Conduct and defend depositions.

  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.

  • Communicate with clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and developments.

  • Collaborate with partners, paralegals, and experts to drive cases forward.

 Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • 4-8 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred but not required).

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and time-management abilities.

  • Active Kentucky Bar membership (or ability to obtain).
