A reputable and well-established law firm in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Law Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of commercial litigation files from opening to close under lawyer supervision.
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motion records, and correspondence.
Assist in the preparation and organization of documents for examinations for discovery, mediations, and trials.
Conduct legal research and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and third parties.
Prepare and maintain electronic and physical litigation files in accordance with firm procedures.
Handle filing, service, and e-filing of court documents in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Review and analyze documentation for disclosure and production.
Provide administrative and procedural support to lawyers throughout all stages of litigation.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Litigation Law Clerk, preferably in commercial litigation.
Completion of a Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent education.
Excellent knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing systems.
Strong drafting, proofreading, and document management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and litigation software.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
