Project Engineer, Commercial Construction
St. Louis, MO | Full Time | On Site | $75,000 to $85,000 per year
About the Company
Our client is an established commercial general contractor in St. Louis, building commercial and institutional projects. They are adding a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to their project team.
About the Role
This role supports Project Managers from preconstruction through closeout. You will coordinate subcontractors, materials, permits, and schedules, and grow toward running your own projects.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and change order documentation
• Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, and procurement with the Project Manager
• Track permits and inspections
• Maintain project schedules, logs, and meeting minutes
• Review construction drawings and specifications across trades
• Support site walks, punch lists, and closeout documentation
Required
• 1 to 4 years of commercial construction coordination or project engineering experience
• Working knowledge of submittals, RFIs, and permits
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
• Strong Excel and communication skills
• Local to the St. Louis metro and able to work on site
Preferred
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Procore experience
• Bluebeam experience
Compensation and Benefits
• $75,000 to $85,000 base salary, depending on experience
