Project Manager – Miscellaneous Metals & Ornamental Steel
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee miscellaneous metals and ornamental steel projects from kickoff through closeout. This role will manage project schedules, budgets, fabrication coordination, subcontractors, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Projects may include stairs, railings, handrails, canopies, decorative metals, architectural metals, and custom fabricated steel packages for commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from estimating handoff through final completion
- Coordinate with architects, general contractors, detailers, fabrication shop, and field crews
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Track material procurement and fabrication timelines
- Conduct project meetings and provide progress updates to clients and leadership
- Manage RFIs, change orders, billing, and project documentation
- Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards
- Support field installation teams and resolve project-related issues as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of project management experience in miscellaneous metals, ornamental steel, or structural steel
- Strong understanding of fabrication and installation processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience managing commercial construction projects
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of stairs, railings, decorative metals, and custom fabrication
- Experience coordinating with fabrication shops and field erection teams
