We represent a family-owned, regional insurance agency with locations across Maine and in the greater NYC area. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organization in high-growth mode, known for their longevity, strong reputation, and opportunities for career progression and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, covering agency systems, workflows, and insurance fundamentals.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for personal (auto, home, umbrella) and commercial (GL, property, workers’ comp) lines.
  • Provide hands-on instruction for servicing tasks: policy changes, renewals, certificates, endorsements, cancellations, and claims support.
  • Train staff on carrier platforms, quoting tools, and service portals to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coach on professional communication via phone, email, and client management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards, E&O practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track trainee progress through feedback, coaching, and performance assessments.
  • Create and update training materials including SOPs, checklists, and reference guides.
  • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to keep training content current.
  • Promote continuous learning through cross-training, education sessions, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Partner with external training resources to enhance curricula.
  • Travel to office locations for in-person training (day and occasional overnight trips).
  • Support training across departments such as bonds, sales, HR, accounting, and benefits.
  • Contribute to special projects and evolving training needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in instructional design and insurance training (personal and commercial lines).
  • Strong facilitation skills across classroom, virtual, and one-on-one formats.
  • Ability to tailor training to various learning styles using interactive methods.
  • Skilled in developing assessments to measure training effectiveness.
  • Effective coaching and feedback abilities.
  • Experience creating development plans with clear performance benchmarks.
  • Proficiency in agency management systems (especially Epic), quoting tools, and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple training schedules and updates.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends.
  • Tech-savvy with platforms used for training delivery and management.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support training initiatives.
