Tax Associate — Los Angeles, CA

We're looking for a driven Tax Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join our public accounting practice in Los Angeles. You'll work across a diverse client base, sharpen your technical skills fast, and have a clear path toward senior roles.
Key functions
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corps, and C-corps
- Assist with tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations for clients across industries
- Research federal and multi-state tax issues and summarize findings in clear client-ready memos
- Support senior associates and managers on complex engagements and special projects
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices; assist with audit support and correspondence
- Maintain organized workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm standards
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely, professional communication
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of tax experience in a public accounting environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of federal and California state tax law
- Experience with tax software such as ProConnect, GoSystem, or CCH Axcess
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
