Project Accountant – Early Career
Experience: 0–2 years Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience with project financials, job costing, AP/AR, and construction accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project accounting and financial activities across multiple construction projects
- Assist with job costing, project budgets, and financial reporting
- Process and track accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Review and code invoices to the appropriate projects and cost codes
- Assist with subcontractor and vendor payments
- Reconcile project accounts and identify discrepancies
- Assist with monthly financial close and reporting
- Track project expenses, commitments, and budget variances
- Work closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate project financials
- Assist with change orders, purchase orders, and contract documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets for project and management review
- Assist with audits and other accounting-related projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Internship or coursework related to accounting, finance, or construction is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with numbers and financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow
- Construction accounting experience is a plus but not required
