Job Description

A steel fabricator and erector serving the East Bay and Northern California is adding a Steel Estimator to its team. In this role, you'll put together pricing on structural and miscellaneous steel packages across light commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

What you'll do:

• Review plans and specifications to spot scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities
• Complete quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel, including both fabrication and erection
• Request and compare quotes for detailing, erection, coatings, and freight
• Build competitive bids and proposals for light commercial, residential, and industrial work
• Work with project managers, the shop, and field crews on constructability and project handoff

What you bring:

• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Steel estimating experience that covers fabrication and erection
• Familiarity with structural and miscellaneous metals packages
• Tekla EPM, SDS2, or similar estimating software experience is a plus
