About the Role
As the Area Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all branch operations, ensuring seamless functionality across equipment, warehouse processes, dispatch/transportation, and counter sales. You will play a critical role in developing strategies to maximize efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain a high-performance culture.
What You’ll Do
- Optimize Performance: Establish, monitor, and maintain key performance metrics, including order fill rates, on-time delivery, equipment utilization, and inventory accuracy.
- Audit and Strategize: Conduct regular audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement tactical solutions to drive operational excellence.
- Team Leadership: Facilitate operations meetings with location managers, provide clear direction, and resolve operational challenges effectively.
- Budget Oversight: Assist in budget preparation and ensure compliance with departmental budgets, labor costs, and expenses.
- Efficiency Focus: Improve warehouse and delivery processes to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Monitor product flow, optimize space and labor utilization, and oversee inventory levels and cycle counts.
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction, partnering with sales management for seamless communication and training.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce company policies and safety standards, maintaining compliance across all departments.
What You’ll Bring
- Leadership: Proven ability to supervise dozens of associates and inspire a culture of accountability and performance.
- Operational Expertise: 4-6 years of experience in operational management within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong skills in process improvement, budgeting, and performance tracking to deliver measurable results.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WMS, and other relevant software systems.
- Strategic Thinking: Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to implement strategic plans and promote continuous improvement.
Education & Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general operations management, financial principles, and safety standards.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to lead diverse teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
