Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our surgical team as a First Assist, with a focus on gender-affirming procedures. This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialized and meaningful area of care, supporting patients through life-changing surgical journeys.

Position Overview

The Operating PA will play a critical role in the operating room, assisting in surgical procedures while also supporting patient care in the clinic setting. This position offers a balanced schedule with both OR and clinic responsibilities.

Schedule

• Approximately 3 days in the OR
• 1.5–2 days in clinic
• Flexibility required to support surgical schedule and case needs

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as First Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, including gender-affirming surgeries
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Assist with patient evaluations, consultations, and follow-ups in clinic
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and care teams
• Ensure high standards of patient safety and quality care

Qualifications

• Active California Physician Assistant license required
• Minimum 3+ years of surgical experience, with strong OR skills
• Experience as a First Assist required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Interest or experience in gender-affirming care is highly preferred
