Job Description: Estimator – Bridge/Structures Construction

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bridge/Structures Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience estimating bridge projects, including roadway, pedestrian, and railway bridge construction. Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and specifications is highly valued.

This position requires a motivated professional who can analyze technical documents, collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors, and prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for complex structural projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for bridge projects including roadway, pedestrian, and railway bridges

  • Review plans, drawings, specifications, and other bid documents to assess project scope and requirements

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns

  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to collect pricing and production data

  • Develop scopes of work and assist with bid proposals and submittals

  • Support value engineering efforts and provide input on constructability and risk

  • Stay informed on material costs, labor trends, and industry developments

  • Collaborate with project management post-award to ensure a smooth handoff


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of estimating experience with bridge and heavy civil construction projects

  • Strong background in roadway, pedestrian, and railway bridge construction

  • Experience with DOT-funded projects and public infrastructure work

  • Proficient in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, and Bluebeam is a plus

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
