Audit Manager - Manufacturing & Distribution

Location: Charlotte, NC (Houston, TX also considered)

Overview

A national middle-market audit, tax and consulting firm is seeking an Assurance Manager for its industrial products team in Charlotte, North Carolina (Houston, TX also considered). Clients include local, national and internationally recognized manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audits of financial statements, disclosures and other client deliverables
• Assess risk and design and communicate audit procedures to engagement teams
• Manage multiple engagement teams; supervise and review the work of seniors and supervisors
• Maintain year-round client contact and assess the impact of business developments on audits
• Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to senior managers and partners
• Manage project profitability and help grow the business through client and referral relationships
• Develop others through training and career advising
• Travel about 25% of the year depending on clients

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or equivalent
• Active CPA license in state of residence (or equivalent credential)
• 5+ years of current or recent public accounting experience
• 4+ years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and FASB or IFRS
• Record of building profitable client relationships
• Fluency in French, German, Japanese or Mandarin preferred
