Job Description

gpac is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, hands-on position responsible for a wide range of maintenance functions that are critical to ensuring optimal plant efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience with food packaging and process equipment, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure smooth operations

  • Oversee and conduct preventative maintenance inspections (daily and weekly) on all machinery

  • Break down equipment as needed and assist with setup and adjustments for daily production

  • Perform light plumbing, electrical work, welding, and carpentry tasks

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to recommend machine upgrades and improvements

  • Work on pneumatic and HVAC systems when required

  • Read and interpret engineering schematics (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic)

  • Complete emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime

  • Carry out additional maintenance duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience with food packaging machines (e.g., Multivac Tray Sealers, Multivac Thermoformers, Weber Slicers)

  • Experience with process equipment such as Weber slicers and pick-and-pack automation

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems and HVAC experience is a plus

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a refrigerated production environment

Schedule

  • Full-Time Position

  • Fixed Monday–Friday schedule

  • Second Shift available
