Job Title: Quality Engineer – Manufacturing Systems & Compliance
Location: Traverse City, MI (On-Site)
Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000 DOE
Overview:
An engineering-focused manufacturer in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and improve quality systems across production. This is a hands-on role that combines technical problem-solving, inspection planning, and compliance leadership. Ideal for someone with a couple of solid years of experience who wants to deepen their impact in a fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and documentation (SOPs, work instructions, etc.)
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Lead efforts for ISO 9001 compliance and internal audits
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain on quality requirements
Track and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements
Support quality during new product introduction and production changes
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (quality or process-focused)
Familiar with ISO 9001, FMEA, PPAP, or other industry quality tools
Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Bonus: experience with Minitab, ERP systems, or supplier quality initiatives
