Position Overview

Seeking a Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. This role offers the opportunity to manage a full caseload while working closely with experienced partners and a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, client-focused, and comfortable handling all aspects of workers’ compensation defense litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters
  • Conduct depositions (parties, witnesses, medical providers, and experts)
  • Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and administrative proceedings
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal pleadings
  • Analyze claims, review medical records, and develop case strategies
  • Respond to and manage discovery
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, including insurance adjusters and risk managers
  • Prepare and submit client reports and case updates

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
  • 2+ years of workers’ compensation experience required
  • Deposition and mediation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
