About the Opportunity:
A respected full-service regional law firm is seeking a highly experienced Intellectual Property Attorney with a portable book of business to join its growing practice. This opportunity is ideal for an entrepreneurial senior-level IP lawyer who wants to expand their practice within a collaborative, well-resourced platform while maintaining meaningful client ownership and strategic influence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive IP counseling across patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, and related IP matters.
Represent clients in IP litigation, including infringement actions and trade secret disputes, in federal court and before the USPTO and PTAB.
Advise on IP licensing, technology transfer, joint ventures, and transactional IP matters; draft and negotiate related agreements.
Develop and implement IP portfolio strategies, risk mitigation plans, and commercialization initiatives.
Manage client relationships while expanding an existing portable book of business.
Collaborate across practice groups to deliver integrated legal solutions.
Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s IP practice.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active Bar admission in Florida or Georgia (or ability to obtain).
Minimum 7+ years of Intellectual Property law experience across litigation, transactions, and counseling.
Portable book of business strongly required (ideally $500K+).
Demonstrated experience in patent, trademark, and copyright matters.
Strong drafting, advocacy, and client communication skills.
Proven business development success and client retention capability.
Ability to manage complex matters independently while collaborating effectively with firm leadership.
