Our client, a growing precision manufacturer with over 50 years of success, is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join its team. This is a hands-on position for a skilled setup machinist who can independently set up CNC mills, lathes, turning centers, and machining centers, make program edits at the control, and troubleshoot machining issues without relying on a dedicated programmer.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers (VMCs), horizontal machining centers (HMCs), CNC lathes, CNC mills and turning centers.
- Install and qualify tooling, fixtures, vises, and workholding.
- Load programs and make offsets and minor program edits at the machine control.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Perform first-piece inspections before releasing jobs to production.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Monitor part quality throughout production and make offset corrections as needed.
- Troubleshoot tooling, machining, and dimensional issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Support production goals while working collaboratively with fellow machinists and operators.
Qualifications
- 3–8+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Strong setup experience with CNC mills, CNC lathes, and turning centers.
- Must have experience with 5-axis equipment
- Ability to make program edits and offsets independently at the machine.
- Experience with heavy CNC equipment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and hold tight tolerances.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, cutting parameters, and precision machining.
- Team-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
