Mechanical Project Manager

Job Summary

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial mechanical construction from preconstruction through closeout, with full ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and coordination with field leadership.

Projects include commercial, healthcare, industrial, and institutional mechanical work, with scopes covering HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related MEP systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical construction projects from kickoff through final closeout

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports

  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work

  • Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and design teams

  • Ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and to quality standards

  • Support procurement, buyout, and coordination efforts as needed


Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in mechanical or HVAC construction

  • Strong background in commercial mechanical systems

  • Experience managing multiple projects or large single-project scopes

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Comfortable working closely with field leadership and jobsite teams

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Experience

  • Design-build or design-assist project delivery

  • Healthcare, industrial, or large commercial project experience

  • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)

  • Mechanical engineering or construction management degree a plus
