A well-established law firm in Sarasota, Florida is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with 7+ years of experience to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigator who wants to handle sophisticated matters, take ownership of a significant caseload, and play a key role in developing successful strategies for clients.
What You'll Do
- Independently manage a significant caseload from inception through resolution
- Handle complex civil litigation matters in state and federal court
- Develop and execute strategic litigation plans focused on achieving strong client outcomes
- Handle matters involving 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claims and medical malpractice defense
- Take an active role in discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic legal advice
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of civil litigation experience
- Significant federal court and complex litigation experience
- Experience with 42 U.S.C. § 1983 matters and/or medical malpractice defense
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a substantial litigation docket
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and courtroom skills
- Currently practicing and comfortable working in a billable-hour environment
- Portable book of business is a plus, but not required
