HR Generalist | Charlotte, NC
A respected, growing construction firm is adding an HR Generalist to its team in Charlotte. This is a high-visibility role that works directly with leadership and supports both office staff and field teams.
What You Will Do
- Run full-cycle onboarding and offboarding, including new-hire paperwork, I-9/E-Verify and orientation
- Serve as the go-to resource for employee relations, policy questions and conflict resolution
- Administer benefits enrollment, leave of absence and workers' compensation claims
- Support payroll processing and keep HRIS records accurate
- Partner with hiring managers on recruiting for project management, field and office roles
- Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, OSHA recordkeeping and company policies
- Help with performance reviews, training programs and employee engagement initiatives
- Maintain and update the employee handbook, job descriptions and HR reports
What You Bring
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience; construction or multi-site experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of employment law, benefits administration and payroll
- Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms
- SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment and absolute discretion with confidential information
