Senior Commercial Litigation Counsel

One of our top clients, a respected full-service law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Counsel to join its litigation group. The firm advises a diverse client base in litigation, bankruptcy, business, land use and real estate, and is known for a culture built on respect, collegiality and genuine care for its people and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage matters and clients independently, including directing case strategy
• Handle multiple clients and cases at once, including real estate litigation, business and complex contract disputes, construction litigation, design professional liability claims and policyholder insurance coverage in state and federal court
• Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs and client correspondence
• Prepare and respond to discovery
• Attend and manage hearings, ADR and court proceedings, through trial
• Handle communications with clients, courts and opposing counsel
• Lead paralegals and staff supporting document and ESI work in complex litigation
• Support the litigation group's development and take part in business development

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree and JD from accredited institutions
• Current WSBA membership (licensed to practice in Washington)
• 10+ years of complex litigation experience
• Track record of leading complex cases from start to finish, including through trial
• Strong writing, critical thinking and judgment, with close attention to detail
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
