GPAC is conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established specialty contractor for pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel, serving aviation, distribution, education, industrial and storage clients across Arizona. The company is adding a Director of Preconstruction - Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings to its team in Mesa, AZ. This is an urgent, high-priority opening. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

The Role

Focus: Experience with major pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) systems is required; commercial tenant improvement experience is a plus. Ability to lead a team of 6-8. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Lead design-assist, value engineering, pricing and detailing for PEMB and steel packages
• Coordinate logistics and erection across a range of project types
• Lead preconstruction from conceptual budgets through GMP
• Manage and mentor the estimating team
• Drive value engineering, subcontractor buyout strategy and client presentations
• Manage RFIs, submittals and project documentation

Requirements

• Experience with major pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) systems is required; commercial tenant improvement experience is a plus. Ability to lead a team of 6-8. Relocation assistance is available.
• Proven record of delivering work safely, on time and on budget
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Procore, Bluebeam, P6 or similar a plus
