Community Association Attorney
Location: Fairfax County, VA 22102
Work Model: Primarily in-office with flexibility once established
gpac is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our partner, a well-established and highly respected regional law firm, seeking a Community Association Attorney with 2–4 years of experience to join its expanding practice.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys client-facing work, practical problem-solving, and building long-term relationships with community leaders and property managers. The practice represents a wide range of condominium and homeowners associations and provides attorneys with consistent client interaction and meaningful responsibility early in their careers.
The attorney in this role will work closely with condominium and homeowners association boards, property managers, and community stakeholders, providing strategic legal guidance on governance, compliance, and dispute resolution. Attorneys in this group are trusted advisors to their clients and often become long-term partners to the communities they serve.
This role offers the chance to develop strong client relationships, gain hands-on experience, and grow within a well-established practice area that continues to expand throughout the region.
Advise condominium and homeowners association boards on governance and operational matters
Draft, review, and interpret governing documents including declarations, bylaws, and rules and regulations
Handle covenant enforcement matters and collections issues
Provide legal guidance on compliance with state statutes and community regulations
Attend board meetings, annual meetings, and client consultations
Collaborate with attorneys across related practice areas including litigation and real estate
Assist with amendments to governing documents and provide strategic guidance on community policy matters
2–4 years of experience in community association, real estate, or related legal practice
Active license to practice law in Virginia
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and client service abilities
Comfort working directly with boards, managers, and community stakeholders
Base salary commensurate with experience
Discretionary bonus structure
1700 billable hour target
