gpac is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our partner, a well-established regional law firm, seeking a Lateral Partner or Counsel with a portable book of business to join its growing team in Fairfax County.
This opportunity is ideal for entrepreneurial attorneys who want the support, flexibility, and collaborative platform of a respected mid-sized firm while maintaining and growing their own client relationships.
The firm is actively looking to expand several of its practice groups and is open to experienced attorneys across multiple practice areas, including corporate, real estate, community association, litigation, construction, employment, and other complementary practices.
Attorneys joining at the partner or counsel level will have the opportunity to integrate their existing clients into a stable, well-regarded firm platform that values collaboration, reputation, and long-term client relationships.
The firm offers rate flexibility and strong internal support, allowing attorneys to continue serving their clients while also benefiting from a broader network of colleagues and resources.
Maintain and grow an existing book of business
Provide strategic legal counsel to clients within your practice area
Collaborate with other attorneys across the firm on cross-disciplinary matters
Mentor associates and contribute to practice group development
Participate in firm leadership initiatives and client development efforts
Expand client relationships through cross-selling opportunities within the firm’s established practice groups
Partner or senior counsel level attorney
Portable book of business of $250K+
Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in continued practice growth
Strong reputation within the legal and business community
Active license to practice law in Virginia (additional DC or Maryland admission is a plus)
Competitive base compensation commensurate with experience and book of business
