Job Snapshot

Job Description

Commercial Litigation Associate (Mid-Level) | Premier California Practice

*Confidential application process*

Are you a disciplined litigator ready to transition from "contributor" to "lead player"? Our client, a highly regarded firm in California, is seeking a high-caliber Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate to join their dynamic team.

This is not a "back-office" research role. You will be expected to step into a fast-paced environment where your strategic input is valued and your professional growth is a priority.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated advocate with at least 4 years of sophisticated litigation experience. While a general commercial background is standard, candidates with specific expertise in Real Estate or Employment Law are highly encouraged to apply.

In this role, you will handle high-stakes matters through every phase of the litigation lifecycle—from initial evaluation through final appeal.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Advocacy: Draft and argue complex law and motion matters; craft compelling briefs that win cases.
  • Discovery & Fact Finding: Manage the full discovery process and take/defend depositions with confidence.
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution: Represent clients effectively in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Trial & Appellate Work: Take a seat at the table with second-chair trial experience and contribute to appellate strategy and briefing.
  • Client Management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear, actionable legal counsel.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation (Law firm setting preferred).
  • Skills: Proven track record in brief writing, taking depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Credentials: JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Attributes: Exceptional analytical skills, a competitive spirit, and the ability to manage multiple complex files simultaneously.

Why This Firm?

Our client offers a sophisticated platform that combines the high-level work of a national firm with the agility and culture of a premier regional practice. You will benefit from:

  • Mentorship from recognized leaders in the California bar.
  • A clear path for career advancement.
  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
