Associate Attorney – Family Law – San Diego, CA

A well-established San Diego law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Family Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of family law experience and be motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage matters from inception to conclusion. This is a full-time, in-office role with the potential to work one day per week remotely after six months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervising attorneys with case management
  • Draft pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation briefs, and trial briefs
  • Prepare and respond to discovery, including meet and confer letters and motions to compel
  • Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings and trial
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums
  • Prepare for and attend ex parte hearings, RFO hearings, and other matters
  • Maintain routine client contact
  • Track billable time
  • Manage matters from inception to conclusion

Qualifications

  • Must be admitted and in good standing with the California Bar
  • 1–5 years of family law experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accurate work product
  • Ability and desire to meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated professional with a positive, team-oriented attitude
