Job Description

Seeking a hands-on CNC Applications Engineer to support machine installations, customer training, and process optimization. (70% travel)

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and support CNC grinding machines at customer facilities.
  • Develop and optimize grinding applications and machining processes for customer-specific requirements.
  • Provide operator training and technical instruction on machine operation and programming.
  • Conduct machine demonstrations and prove-outs at company and customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot machine, process, and application issues to ensure equipment performs to specifications.
  • Assist in preparing time studies, technical proposals, and application documentation to support equipment sales.
  • Document processes and continually expand technical knowledge through hands-on experience and ongoing training.
  • Travel extensively to customer sites throughout North America (up to 70%).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with CNC machine tools, including programming, applications, installation, or training.
  • CNC grinding experience or exposure to precision machining processes preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions independently.
  • Comfortable presenting technical information and training customers in both individual and group settings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard business software.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting time studies and documenting processes is a plus.

Travel Requirement: Up to 70%
