Construction Superintendent

A well-established general contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex public construction projects is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join its growing team. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a hands-on field leader who takes pride in delivering quality work, maintaining safe jobsites, and leading projects from groundbreaking through completion.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for ground-up public and institutional projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to keep projects on schedule and within quality expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards while promoting a strong safety culture on the jobsite.
  • Monitor project progress, document daily activities, and maintain accurate field reports and project records.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure work is completed according to plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors throughout the construction process.
  • Assist with project scheduling by providing regular field updates and identifying potential delays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite while resolving field issues proactively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Demonstrated success managing ground-up public or institutional construction projects valued at approximately $15 million or more.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and quality control.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Experience with project documentation, RFIs, daily reports, and scheduling updates.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the masonry or carpentry trades is considered a strong advantage.
