gpac is working with a client company that's been proudly producing quality food products for decades. They're looking for a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join the team and help ensure a safe, compliant, and engaging work environment across our facilities.
Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a proactive “safety-first” culture across their Kentucky/Indiana facilities. This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with our diverse workforce and deliver impactful training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Enforce OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
Lead investigations of incidents and follow through on corrective actions.
Deliver bilingual safety training (e.g., new hire orientation, forklift safety, PPE).
Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related concerns among employees and supervisors.
Maintain accurate safety records, including OSHA logs, training documentation, and inspections.
Coordinate emergency response procedures and safety drills.
Support workers’ compensation reporting and return-to-work efforts.
Qualifications:
Bilingual (English & Spanish) – written and verbal.
2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry standards.
Ability to travel between KY and IN facilities.
OSHA 30-hour certification (General Industry) preferred.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
Work Environment: This is a hands-on role that requires regular time on the manufacturing floor. Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial environment and directly engaging with employees at all levels.
