Job Description

Position Overview:
A well-established and growth-oriented law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Associate or Senior Associate with at least 5 years of relevant experience. This is a high-priority hire offering the opportunity to work on sophisticated IP matters in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a broad range of intellectual property matters, including litigation, counseling, and transactional work

  • Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal guidance

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and agreements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams on complex matters

  • Contribute to business development initiatives as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of intellectual property law experience

  • Strong academic credentials (top law school a plus, but not required)

  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

  • Admission to the Virginia Bar or ability to waive in

  • Submission of law school transcripts and a writing sample required

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $160,000 – $225,000 (commensurate with experience)

  • Discretionary bonus structure

  • Billable hour target: 1,750 annually

  • Hybrid work schedule (2 days remote per week)

  • Formal mentorship and professional development programs
