Position Overview:
A well-established and growth-oriented law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Associate or Senior Associate with at least 5 years of relevant experience. This is a high-priority hire offering the opportunity to work on sophisticated IP matters in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a broad range of intellectual property matters, including litigation, counseling, and transactional work
Manage client relationships and provide strategic legal guidance
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and agreements
Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams on complex matters
Contribute to business development initiatives as appropriate
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of intellectual property law experience
Strong academic credentials (top law school a plus, but not required)
Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Admission to the Virginia Bar or ability to waive in
Submission of law school transcripts and a writing sample required
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $160,000 – $225,000 (commensurate with experience)
Discretionary bonus structure
Billable hour target: 1,750 annually
Hybrid work schedule (2 days remote per week)
