Confidential Opportunity – Safety Manager (Commercial Construction)

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly respected, well-established general contractor seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and elevate safety performance across multiple commercial construction projects. This organization is known for its strong culture, long-term employee retention, and commitment to best-in-class safety practices.

Position Overview
This role will provide leadership, direction, and oversight of all jobsite safety initiatives, working closely with project teams and subcontractors to ensure a proactive, compliant, and continuously improving safety environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of safety professionals, fostering a strong safety-first culture
  • Drive continuous improvement of company-wide safety programs and initiatives
  • Partner with project teams and subcontractors to clearly define and implement safety expectations at the jobsite level
  • Facilitate preconstruction and pre-task planning meetings to establish safe work practices and procedures
  • Conduct and lead regular safety meetings with field teams and trade partners
  • Oversee and support enforcement of company safety policies, including substance abuse programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA)

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in construction safety, with leadership responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Professional certification such as CHST 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
