Operations Manager – Building Materials

We are actively looking for an Operations Manager experienced in the Lumber and Building Materials industry to join our growing team! The Operations Manager will be responsible for efficient and effective management of the day-to-day activities and operations of direct reports, provide coaching and training, and collaborate with supervisors to maintain consistency in the application of company policies and procedures.

As the Operations Manager you will also be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the team, ensuring their productivity and performance, and actively engage in yard operations to provide guidance and support.

 

Job Type: Full Time, On-site

Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures for product quality excellence.
  • Develop waste control strategies to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including stock monitoring and replenishment coordination.
  • Oversee accurate and timely processing and delivery of inbound and outbound orders.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of 20 employees, driving productivity and performance.
  • Engage actively in yard operations, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage resources and processes to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, proactively identifying and addressing risks.

 

Requirements of the Operations Manager:

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of Management experience in the Lumber and Building Materials industry.
  • Showcase proficiency in planning, goal setting, and project management.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of lumber, siding, and decking manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Possess a solid understanding of maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire others.
  • Showcase excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Display exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to foster and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
