Estimator to Senior EstimatorLocation: Cleveland, Ohio

A well-established and growing commercial construction firm in the Cleveland area is conducting a confidential search for an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This role supports a strong and consistent pipeline of commercial projects across various sectors.

Position OverviewThe Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project documentation, and supporting the bidding process from concept through submission. Title and level will be aligned with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and conceptual through hard-bid estimates

• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents

• Solicit, scope, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids

• Perform bid leveling and ensure full project coverage

• Partner with project managers and preconstruction teams

• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies

• Maintain and leverage historical cost data

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience for Estimator; 7–12+ years for Senior Estimator

• Proven experience in commercial construction estimating

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local pricing

• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or similar)

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents independently

• Strong communication and time management skills

• Field experience or trade background is a plus (degree not required)

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimator: $90,000 – $105,000 annually

• Senior Estimator: $110,000 – $135,000+ annually

• Performance-based bonus potential
