Job Description

A well-established law firm is looking to add a Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Attorney to its growing restructuring practice. This is a fully remote opportunity for an attorney with meaningful bankruptcy experience who wants to focus primarily on the creditor side of bankruptcy matters.

The ideal candidate has experience representing secured creditors, lenders, financial institutions, trade creditors, or other creditor interests in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings.

The Opportunity

  • Represent creditors, lenders and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters
  • Handle creditor-side strategy, claims, preference actions, plan issues, adequate protection and related litigation
  • Participate in Chapter 11 cases, contested matters, hearings and bankruptcy litigation
  • Work directly with experienced attorneys and clients on sophisticated restructuring matters
  • Opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and build a long-term career with the firm
  • Fully remote position with a strong level of autonomy

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of bankruptcy/restructuring experience
  • Creditor-side experience is required
  • Experience representing lenders, secured creditors, financial institutions or commercial creditors strongly preferred
  • Strong bankruptcy litigation and motion practice skills
  • Comfortable handling matters independently while working collaboratively with a team
  • Strong academic and legal writing background
  • Illinois bar admission preferred, but other jurisdictions will be considered

Compensation: $175,000–$200,000 + benefits
