Pre-Construction Manager

Heavy Commercial Mechanical Contractor

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to support large-scale commercial, institutional, and industrial projects including hospitals, laboratories, and complex mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• HVAC and plumbing pre-construction management
• Estimating, buyout, procurement, and budgeting
• Developing accurate estimates from schematic/concept design documents
• Managing submittals and preconstruction documentation
• Coordinating schedules, cost controls, and project execution planning
• Supporting large-scale commercial and institutional mechanical projects
• Managing and mentoring team members

• Laboratories
• Heavy commercial construction
• Institutional facilities
• Industrial/mechanical process piping systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in heavy commercial or institutional construction
• Background in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical process piping systems
• Experience on projects exceeding $5M
• Strong estimating and cost control experience
• Experience in hard bid environments
• Knowledge of procurement, scheduling, QA/QC, and project controls
• Prior field/trade experience preferred (plumber, technician, etc.)
• Stable work history required

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical construction experience
• Leadership or management experience
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills
• Able to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment
