Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for custom fabrication and structural projects. The Estimator will work closely with sales, engineering, project management, and production teams to analyze project specifications, determine material and labor requirements, and develop competitive project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents for fabrication and structural projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and production time.
Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate project scope and cost projections.
Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
Analyze fabrication processes, aluminum and structural materials, and production workflows to determine project costs.
Develop and submit competitive project bids and proposals.
Track and update estimates based on design revisions or scope changes.
Maintain estimating databases, cost history, and pricing models for future bids.
Support project managers during project handoff and assist with cost tracking during production.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to clarify project requirements.
Qualifications:
5+ years of estimating experience in fabrication, manufacturing, marine construction, or structural steel/aluminum industries.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication prints, and project specifications.
Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and production methods.
Ability to develop accurate cost models for complex custom projects.
Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience estimating custom aluminum structures, marine infrastructure, docks, bridges, or heavy fabrication projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (experience may substitute for education).
Familiarity with project management and fabrication shop workflows.
Work Environment:
Office and manufacturing environment supporting a fabrication facility.
Regular collaboration with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams.
Full-time position with opportunity to contribute to complex custom fabrication projects.

Competitive salary: $90,000 – $125,000
