Confidential Opportunity Senior Pre-Construction & Procurement Leader (Design-Build)
A growing and well-established design-build construction firm is seeking a seasoned construction professional to lead Pre-Construction and Procurement efforts.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands budgets deeply, owns procurement execution, and thrives in a systems-driven environment.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
10+ years in construction or design-build
Background in Pre-Construction, Project Management, Estimating, or Purchasing
Direct experience with:
Purchasing and buyout
Vendor & subcontractor coordination
Estimating and cost control
Budget tracking and margin protection
Strong ability to read drawings and specs
Comfortable navigating change orders, schedules, and real-world construction constraints
This role requires someone who has lived in the details — not just managed from a distance.

Core Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
Develop vendor lists, scopes, and bid packages
Lead buyout and negotiate pricing aligned with market conditions
Ensure apples-to-apples bid comparisons
Manage purchase orders and commitments
Pre-Construction Execution
Review drawings and specifications
Identify constructability concerns early
Clarify scope ownership and budget alignment
Collaborate with design, PMs, and field teams
Budget & Cost Control
Track committed costs vs. remaining exposure
Monitor variance to budget
Analyze estimate vs. final buyout
Maintain clarity around what’s bought, committed, and at risk
Internal Impact
This person becomes:
