Job Description

The Tax Supervisor is responsible for organizing, managing, and completing tax engagements while coaching and directing team members to meet both client and firm expectations. This role serves as a key bridge between seniors and managers, with a strong focus on people development, technical leadership, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review tax engagements, including individual, partnership, and corporate returns
  • Conduct and document tax research and formulate conclusions on complex issues
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and senior associates
  • Review staff workpapers and ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards
  • Serve as a client contact and build strong, ongoing client relationships
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and collaborate with managers on advisory solutions
  • Actively participate in engagement planning, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Ensure deadlines and budgets are met while maintaining high service standards
  • Contribute to firm initiatives, training programs, and practice development efforts

Qualifications

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent required
  • 4+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and research skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities simultaneously
