We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by ensuring products, processes, and systems meet established quality standards. This individual will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, resolving quality issues, and strengthening overall operational performance. This client is in the Tampa area of Florida.
This position works closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, procurement, and supply chain to maintain compliance, improve processes, and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Perform product and process inspections to identify defects, deviations, and non-conformances
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve operational processes
- Maintain and report on quality metrics, inspection results, and improvement initiatives
- Participate in internal and external audits and support regulatory compliance efforts
- Support new product development through design reviews, supplier changes, and first article inspections
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 5S, and visual management
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor key performance indicators and support visual management systems
- Promote and enforce workplace safety and organizational policies
- Support training and development initiatives, including maintaining competency matrices and closing skill gaps
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Working knowledge of quality management systems, inspection methods, and statistical process control
- Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, and process capability studies
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
Preferred:
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CQI) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
