Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation by maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This is a hands-on, multi-craft role working across mechanical systems, electrical components, and PLC-controlled equipment.

This opportunity is with a well-established manufacturer that has been in operation for over a century, growing from a small family-run business into a nationally distributed product line. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure reliable operation
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • Install and repair electrical systems (110V, 220V, 440V and low voltage controls)
  • Support equipment changeovers, line startups, and production needs
  • Order and replace parts as needed
  • Work with motors, relays, sensors, drives, timers, and control systems
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and food safety standards

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
  • Experience with processing or packaging equipment preferred
  • Welding, fabrication, or refrigeration experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Work Environment & Requirements:

  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation, including weekends or off-shifts as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in tight spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and moderate to high noise
