Insurance Coverage Attorney (3+ Years) – Senior Counsel / Non-Equity Partner Track
Location: Dallas, Texas

A respected law firm in Dallas, Texas is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience to join its growing team. This opportunity offers a clear path to Senior Counsel or Non-Equity Partner for the right candidate. The position is fully on-site and ideal for attorneys who enjoy working closely with clients and developing long-term professional relationships.

The firm handles complex insurance coverage and defense matters and values attorneys who bring strong litigation skills, initiative, and a collaborative mindset. The role includes a 1,900 billable hour requirement and offers a competitive compensation structure with performance-based incentives. This position is on-site but has some flexibility for a hybrid schedule with senior level attorneys.

Responsibilities

  • Handle insurance coverage and defense matters through various stages of litigation

  • Analyze policies and provide legal guidance on coverage issues

  • Draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda

  • Conduct depositions, discovery, and case strategy development

  • Communicate effectively with clients and build strong professional relationships

  • Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on case management

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience (general liability, insurance defense, or related defense litigation background)

  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar

  • Ability to work on-site five days per week in Dallas

  • Strong research, writing, and litigation skills

Billable Requirement

  • 1,900 billable hours annually
